I'm Travis Prange, born in 1982 and reside in Dallas, Texas. I own and operate this website and have been in the midst of redoing it for quite some time. With the upcoming release of my first book - "I" - I certainly have been under the added pressure to try and re-do this to be more professional.
I value the meaning and expression of words, which I can probably attribute to my mother's anal-retentiveness of learning and trying to master the English language. I certainly have tried to expand my knowledge of certain topics over time and have come to the realization that words are very empowering, and I love the analytical sense and aspect of literature.
Coupled with my inherit ability (and perhaps obsession) of analyzing things, it makes for an interesting way to view the world. I would certainly say that it's developed over time to be a bit warped, as my interest lies in the connections we all bear to one another, and the relationships we create (and thus destroy) intrigue me.
Though I can promise that "I" will not be my last forray into the writing world, I cannot promise when the next glimpse might be. This particular project has been the culmination of years of my writing (and over a year of compilation into an actual book), and as I look forward to what's next, I can't say if it will be more of the same or a completely different endeavor.
My passion for years has been to write poetry, and I have recently been able to branch out into writing about travels that I have taken. I hope to further expand my interests into other types of writing, but time will tell if those attempts will have the same effect as my poetry.
Of course, none of this could have come to be what it is without the aid and direction of Kevin McCauley. A friend of 5 years, Kevin and I attended school together in Texas briefly. Upon seeing his work in the last couple of years, I knew that a project like "I" would be something even more special than the words contained within if it had Kevin's personal touch and twist. I'm forever grateful that we have worked on this project together and hope it's just the beginning of future collaborations and ideas to come.
With all that said, I hope everyone enjoys it who has the chance to read it. I think it is something truly special, and am pleased with how it has shaped up.
Thanks for visiting.
